This clever Motion Sensor triggers the lights to turn on automatically when it detects movement. It’s battery powered and operates wirelessly, so it can be placed anywhere around the home – or put one in each room of your house where you need it.
You’ll need to install the Philips Hue light bulbs and Hue Bridge to work with the Motion Sensor. These can be bought separately or in a Starter Kit.
The Philips Hue smart lighting is quick and easy to set up – no rewiring or electrician required
1. Screw or fix in your lightbulbs (depending on your fittings) and switch them on;
2. Decide where to put the Motion Sensor – leave it free-standing or attach it to the wall with the magnet or screw;
3. Plug in the Hue Bridge and use the cable provided to connect it to your wifi router. Download the official Philips Hue app then follow the in-app instructions to finish the installation.

Make your lighting work for you
This smart Motion Sensor gives you even more flexibility to your Philips Hue lighting system, by only turning on the lights in a room when it detects movement. It also helps you navigate your home at night, as you'll be able to select the gentle light for the landing or warm night light for the stairs.
Manage your energy use
The Motion Sensor will switch off the lights in a room when there’s no activity, to prevent you wasting energy on lighting. There’s an integrated daylight sensor too, so if there’s enough light the lights don’t turn on automatically when there’s movement – and you can control the sensitivity of this feature through the Hue app.
Position anywhere around the home
Place the Motion Sensor in any rooms or hallways around the home – it can be left on a shelf or fixed to the wall using the magnet or a screw. There’s no need to locate it near a power socket or the router either, as the device runs on batteries and operates wirelessly.
